Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using our website, signing up for a studio membership, or booking time in our 1,000 sq. ft. studio space.
By accessing or using our website, submitting a waitlist application, or purchasing a membership, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our website or services.
1. General Website Use
Eligibility: You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, purchase a membership, or book the studio.
Accuracy of Information: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and booking, and to keep your account details updated.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your website login credentials and smart lock app access. You are fully responsible for all activities that occur under your account.
2. Studio Memberships & Billing
Subscription Tiers: Memberships are billed as a recurring monthly subscription (Tier 1: £49/mo, Tier 2: £99/mo, Tier 3: £199/mo).
Payment Processing: All membership fees are collected automatically on a monthly recurring basis via our secure payment processor (e.g., Stripe).
No VAT: Prices listed on the website are flat rates. No VAT is added or charged unless explicitly stated otherwise upon reaching statutory HMRC thresholds.
Rolling Agreement & Cancellation: Memberships operate on a monthly rolling contract. You may cancel your membership at any time by giving 30 days' written notice via email or through your member portal. No partial monthly refunds are provided.
Capacity Capping: To maintain fair studio access for all users, active memberships are strictly capped (at 75 active spots). If a subscription lapses due to non-payment or cancellation, your spot may be offered to the waitlist.
3. Studio Bookings & Usage Rules
Hour Allowance: Monthly studio hours included in your tier reset on your monthly billing date and do not roll over to subsequent months ("use it or lose it").
Booking Lead Time & Cancellations: Booking requests must be made via the online booking form on the members HQ page. Cancellations or modifications made less than 24 hours before a scheduled session will result in the forfeiture of those booked hours from your monthly allocation.
Guest & Crew Limits: Members must adhere to the maximum 10 guest allowance in the studio. The member must be present on-site at all times during their booking. If the member requires additional guests, they must submit a request.
Access Hours: Studio entry is permitted only during designated member operating hours.
Buffer Times & Overruns: Bookings must end strictly on time. All setup, shoot time, packing, and cleaning must be completed within your allocated slot. Members who exceed their booked time will be charged a standard overrun fee of £20 per additional hour.
4. Studio Conduct, Care & Damage Policy
Cleanliness: Members are required to leave the studio, makeup station, lounge, and restrooms in a clean, tidy, and usable state. All trash must be placed in designated bins.
Equipment Care: All lighting, stands, soft boxes, props, and furniture must be handled with care and returned to their proper storage locations after use.
Damage Liability: Members are financially liable for any damage to the studio property, walls, fixtures, lighting, or gear caused by themselves, their guests, clients, or crew during their booking. Repair or replacement costs will be charged directly to the payment card on file.
Prohibited Items & Behaviour: Smoking, vaping, open flames, pyrotechnics, non-water-based smoke machines, illegal substances, and excessive noise that disturbs surrounding commercial neighbours are strictly prohibited inside the building.
5. Intellectual Property
Website Content: All text, graphics, logos, images, site design, and code on this website are the intellectual property of Scorn Media and are protected by UK copyright laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute website content without written permission.
Member Content Rights: You retain full ownership and copyright over all photography, videography, and audio recorded by you inside the studio.
6. CCTV & Security
For safety, security, and property protection, common areas of the studio floor and entrance points are monitored by 24/7 CCTV cameras. By entering the premises, you and your guests consent to being recorded. Video footage is processed in accordance with our [Privacy Policy].
7. Limitation of Liability & Insurance
Personal Property: Scorn Media is not responsible for any loss, theft, or damage to personal equipment, cameras, clothing, or belongings brought onto the studio premises by members or their guests.
Public Liability: Members are strongly advised to hold their own public liability and equipment insurance.
Service Interruptions: We do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the website, online booking portal, or physical studio in the event of scheduled maintenance, technical outages, power failures, or extreme events beyond our reasonable control (Force Majeure).
8. Termination of Service
We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate website access, smart lock permissions, or studio memberships without refund if a member breaches these Terms, damages equipment, exhibits abusive behaviour, or engages in unauthorised sub-leasing of the space.
9. Governing Law
These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
